Jordan H. earned the prestigious Mighty Sticker award while at Camp Wannaklot this year. I was able to present it to Jordan at his home this past month with his Mom present. As you can see from this cute photo he was grinning from ear to ear! He wanted that award this year and wanted it badly! I have been working with Jordan for eight years and was very proud to present it to him.

Why is Jordan so happy to get his award?

“I don’t have to wait on the nurse. I can stick myself when I feel like it and this makes me happy. This means there is more time to prep myself and I can be independent. I do not have to wait for the nurse to show up at a certain time. I don’t like others sticking me. The scariest part of sticking myself was not getting a vein and a vein blows.”

Jordan's advice to others learning how to stick themselves:

“Don’t get sad if you miss on the first try. When I get it on the second try I feel better. And don’t get nervous about the camp nurses sticking you, they are good!”

I would say these are great words of wisdom from Jordan, a Mighty Sticker!  Congratulations Jordan, we are so proud of you.
