The Mighty Sticker Club proudly welcomes Sebastian R.,  Depri R., Keith W. and Joey L. as its newest members. To become a member, they mastered the steps for self-infusion including mixing factor, selecting a vein, sticking themselves, giving their own factor, and completing a treatment calendar. They have worked diligently to be able to self-infuse. What an accomplishment!

Sebastian R. is 12 years old and has successfully demonstrated the skills necessary to achieve induction into the Mighty Sticker Club. He was awarded a certificate of completion and watch for all his hard work.  He has been learning to mix and infuse his own factor from his parents, his HTC nurse and his outreach nurse at HoG, Mary Ann Tyler. He demonstrated that he could identify a bleed, calculate his factor dose, mix it  correctly and infuse without difficulty. Sebastian is in the gifted program at Grovetown Middle School. He hopes to become either a hematologist or an astronaut.  Sebastian excels in all of his studies but he especially enjoys science and math.

Depri R. is 11 years old and had been working on this award with his mom and his HoG outreach nurse, Karen Clark, prior to attending camp.  He successfully completed the steps during his week at Camp Wannaklot last summer. Depri has also been a great role model and example for his two year old cousin who also has Hemophila A.  His cousin has been watching Depri as he infuses.  Recently, Depri was very helpful when he successfully infused his cousin for his weekly prophylaxis factor infusion. He did a great job and had great technique.

Keith W., an 11-year old from Barrow County, has had a big year.  He has worked diligently to become a self-infuser. He decided on his own that he was ready to master his infusions and be self-sufficient. Keith now takes full ownership of the infusion process. His HoG outreach nurse, Karen Clark, presented him with a certificate and watch at his home to celebrate his accomplishment.

Joey L. is 13 and learned self-infusing during his time at Camp Wannaklot last summer.  He decided to take full ownership of the infusion process. His HoG outreach nurse, Karen Clark, presented him with a certificate and watch to celebrate his accomplishment. Congratulations to Sebastian, Depri, Keith and Joey! All of us at Hemophilia of Georgia are so proud of you and wish you much success in your future endeavors. Who will be the next newest member of the club?
