Tips for Getting Your Factor Order More Quickly

There are several steps you can take to help make sure your factor orders from the HoG or Beacon pharmacy are processed quickly and shipped to you promptly.
1. Provide current insurance information
When you call the pharmacy or order online, please be sure to tell us your current insurance information. It is very helpful to have a copy of the front and back of your insurance cards as there are certain numbers we need in order to bill your claim. It’s particularly important that we know if you are on COBRA. It usually takes even longer to verify your insurance with COBRA because there are two verifications for your order.
Even better, call us as soon as you get a new insurance card. That way we can get everything verified before you need to order. This also helps in case we are required to get a prior authorization for your medications. With some companies this can take up to 48 hours to obtain.
2. Sign and return Order Summary Forms
We need a signed Order Summary form for every order. Your insurance may not pay for your factor if you don’t sign the form. We keep this with your records for audits.
3. Always keep at least 3 doses on hand
There are always unforeseen circumstances, but if you have three doses on hand you should have enough to treat a bleed until you can get another order.
4. Be home if your package needs a signature
We ask you if the package can be left without a signature. If you say no, the driver will not leave the package if no one is home. This means you will not get your factor on time.
