Our Year of Changes and Successes

This past fiscal year brought many changes to our organization including health care reform, Beacon Pharmacy, and the departure of our Emory/CHOA Medical Director, Dr. Tom Abshire. Once again the Board, staff and volunteers kept this organization moving forward with an eye on the mission and vision of the agency. Holiday Happenings at Callaway GardensCallaway 2010 10

On Saturday, November 20, more than 400 Hemophilia of Georgia clients, guests and staff celebrated the holiday season at Callaway Gardens. It was a gorgeous day for the families to explore the many walking trails, the Butterfly Center, and the gardens. Read more.

Save the Date - Hemophilia Day at the State Capitol will be February 3, 2011

On Thursday, February 3, Hemophilia of Georgia will host Hemophilia Day at the Georgia Capitol in Atlanta. Hemophilia Day is an opportunity for families with bleeding disorders in Georgia to meet with senators and representatives in the General Assembly. Read more.

HoG Announces Two Trot to Clot Walks in 2011Clot Trot image 152 px

We are pleased to announce the dates for two Trot to Clot Walks in 2011. The first will be on Saturday, April 16 at East Cobb Park in Marietta. Like last year, this Trot to Clot Walk will be a fun, family-friendly walk around the park. As many as 150 participants are expected and we hope to raise up to $30,000 at this walk. On Saturday, May 21 HoG will host the Trot to Clot Walk and Run at Stone Mountain Park. Read more.

HoG Shipped Millions of Units of Donated Factor This Yearwfh photo

The Hemophilia of Georgia staff has been very busy in 2010 with our ongoing World Federation of Hemophilia project. Pfizer donated over 20 million units of Refacto to be donated to other countries throughout the year. This factor has been shipped primarily to countries in Africa and Latin America, including Ethiopia, Honduras, and Panama. Read more.
