Hemophilia of Georgia’s Spring Family Camp was held on April 29-May 1, 2022, at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia. Twenty-one families enjoyed a weekend of networking with other families affected by an inherited bleeding disorder. The weather was beautiful, sunny, warm, and not a cloud in the sky. During the weekend, families participated in a variety of fun camp activities including: fishing, paddle boats, climbing wall, swimming, crafts, baking, archery, tennis, mini golf, family games, sports, and a visit to the Camp Twin Lakes Farm. At the farm, families learned about the gardens and spent time with the goats, donkey, cows, and more. Families also participated in a fun, interactive, educational game of “Bleeding Disorder Jeopardy.” This enabled families to enjoy learning more about bleeding disorders that affect them in an engaging way. After dinner, families enjoyed spending time together playing fun field games with each other. Sunday morning, we wrapped up the weekend with breakfast, some more family fun around camp, and packing up! It was a great weekend for HoG families to get outside, engage with others that are affected by an inherited bleeding disorder, get to know some of the HoG staff, and get away from the hustle and bustle to relax for the weekend.
