HoG Changes Up Its Program Department

By Tracy Heath, Director of Communications

We have undergone a lot of changes here at Hemophilia of Georgia to prepare for the future and better serve the inherited bleeding disorder community. Over the past few months, we have made several staff changes in our Programs Department. Some of these changes introduce new faces and others show familiar faces in new roles.

Because our program team works so closely with our clients and partners, we want to share the announcements with our readers. Changes include:

  • Robert Gillespie, the former Regional Coordinator for the HRSA and CDC grants, has been named Vice President of Programs, filling the position vacated by Ruth Brown. He will lead our client events, outreach staff, and grant management team.
  • Kim Williams, the former Director of Camp and Events, is now Senior Director of Client Engagement. She will be directly involved with Camp Wannaklot this year, but her role as camp director will eventually be filled. She will move into managing client events and health education and promotion.
  • Deniece Chevannes, the former Director of Health Promotion and Evaluations, has been named Senior Director of Grants Management. She will now assist managing the HRSA and CDC regions. She will oversee the Regional Coordinator position vacated by Robert Gillespie.
  • Michelle Lowe, the former Director of Nursing, has been promoted to Senior Director of Clinical Services, where she will manage all outreach nursing and social work staff.
  • Stephanie Matz, who served as an outreach nurse, will now fill the Director of Nursing role vacated by Michelle Lowe. She will no longer be serving her clients directly, but she will be filling her previous outreach nurse role as quickly as possible.
  • Julie Hayman, the former Clinical Nurse Coordinator, will now serve as the Director of Payer Solutions in our relatively new Payer Relations and Network Development Department.
  • Lastly, but certainly not least, we have added two new social workers to the team. Jazzmine Brown and Alayna Sipple joined us in December and January, respectively.

We know that these changes will prove beneficial to both our organization and to the clients and community we serve. If you have any questions, please contact us at 770-518-8272.
