What a Day at Coolray!
Horizons in Hemophilia, July 2015
By Kirstin Downie, Director of Development
Nothing evokes summer memories like a day at a baseball game. Hemophilia of Georgia hosted the second annual HoG Day at Coolray Field on Sunday, June 7th with the Gwinnett Braves taking on the Durham Bulls. The Braves didn’t grab the “W” but that didn’t stop us from having a blast. From getting an up-close look at SWAT and emergency vehicles, to playing catch in the outfield before the game and running the bases after the game, HoG supporters were out in force to enjoy a beautiful and fun day. Zabian was selected to represent HoG as the honorary bat kid and hung out with Braves players in the dugout, posing for pictures and taking home an autographed ball. Maria Manahan, HoG’s new CEO, wowed the crowd with her skills when she threw out the first pitch. Almost $1,000 was raised from the silent auction and group ticket sales that will support activities at Camp Wannaklot. Thanks to all who came out to support bleeding disorder awareness and Camp Wannaklot. If you missed out this year, don’t worry, stay tuned to www.hog.org/hogdayatcoolray for event announcements.
