Tired of the winter weather? Join us this spring at a 2014 Trot to Clot Walk and Run!
By Kirstin Downie, Director of Development
Weather-predicting groundhogs Punxsutawney Phil and General Beauregard Lee did not see eye-to-eye on their recent weather forecasts for the year. While Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter, Georgia’s own General Beauregard Lee did not see his shadow, predicting an early spring. We will see in the coming weeks which rodent is right but in the meantime the HoG Development Department is hard at work planning great outdoor events for you to enjoy this spring.
Whether spring is around the corner or another six weeks away, warmer weather will be a welcome sight and you can plan to enjoy it at HoG’s 2014 Trot to Clot walk and runs! Not only are these fun events a way to get out and enjoy the outdoors, sans snow, but also you are contributing to a wonderful cause – raising funds for Camp Wannaklot and giving very deserving kids the opportunity to attend camp, make new friends, learn about their bleeding disorders, and share new experiences.
Sign up today as a walker, runner, or team or join us as a spectator or volunteer. You can help HoG reach the goal of raising $75,000 to support program fees, educational materials, and supplies for camp.

Why should you attend HoG’s Trot to Clots?
“…because the race helps raise money for children with bleeding disorders. My favorite part of the Trot to Clot would have to be that I was helping raise money for children that I care about so much.” - Ashley Swan, Junior Board of Directors of HoG
“Our family supports the Trot to Clot Walk and Run because … our son Kyle was diagnosed with hemophilia at 4 days old. Hemophilia of Georgia has been our lifeline of support for 15 years …being involved in something that will make a difference is life changing and raising money is a little part of making that happen.” – Doug and Karen Norton
