The Mighty Sticker Club
We have added two new members to the Mighty Sticker Club this month. This month, HoG recognizes Justin and Kassidy. To join the club, clients must master the steps of self-infusion. This includes mixing factor, selecting a vein, sticking themselves with a needle, administering the factor, and completing a treatment calendar.
Justin, age 17, is a senior in high school and loves building computers and playing the guitar. Carlos, his outreach nurse said, “I really enjoyed getting to know Justin. He’s a remarkable young man.” Justin loves to watch football and is a big University of Alabama fan. He also enjoys participating in church activities.
Kassidy, age 16, is a junior in high school. Sonya, her outreach nurse shared, “Kassi is truly a fun, loving, kind, independent, and sassy young lady. She is extremely knowledgeable about her bleeding disorder and has consistently done an excellent job with self-infusions for quite some time.” Kassidy is a member of the LIT program and plans to become involved with patient advocacy. She’d eventually like to be a camp counselor for Camp Wannaklot.
For their accomplishment, they received official Mighty Sticker certificates and gift cards. Congratulations! We are proud of you and the steps that you are taking to be self-reliant, to care for your health, and to master the infusion process.
