Spring Fundraising Campaigns: Camp and Scholarships
Horizons in Hemophilia, May 2011
By Vic McCarty, Director of Development
It’s that time of year for two very important fundraising initiatives at Hemophilia of Georgia. We need your support for the following fundraising campaigns:
Each year, the John Youtsey Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Georgia residents affected by hemophilia or other bleeding disorders and to students who have lost a parent to complications from a bleeding disorder. Through this program, HoG provides financial assistance to clients who are motivated and talented but lack the resources to achieve their educational goals. Scholarship applications for the 2011-2012 school year were due on May 2, 2011. The applications are now being reviewed and scholarships will be awarded this summer. Help HoG provide these much-needed scholarships by donating online no later than June 30, 2011.
Camp Wannaklot, a week-long residential camp, is the only camp in Georgia that provides children ages 7 to 17 who have hemophilia or other inherited bleeding disorders the opportunity to enjoy a traditional camp experience. Camp Wannaklot will celebrate its 18th season this summer as more than 150 campers attend camp from July 17-22, 2011. Please watch your mail for the Camp Wannaklot fundraising appeal in early June or donate online. The campers truly appreciate your support!
