Help Raise Awareness on World Hemophilia Day

By Coleen Lou, Director of Communications

Published March 20, 2025

April 17 is World Hemophilia Day and a chance for you to join others around the world to raise awareness about hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. Funds raised this year will go to support HoG’s Global Humanitarian Aid. Let’s all come together and continue to work towards a world where everyone with a bleeding disorder has access to diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive care.

These efforts are led by the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and this year’s theme for World Hemophilia Day is “Access for All: Women and girls bleed too.”  Even today, women and girls with bleeding disorders (WGBDs) are still underdiagnosed and underserved. We have a responsibility to change this. Through recognition, diagnosis, treatment, and care, the quality of life of women and girls will improve, and the bleeding disorder community will become stronger.

By raising awareness and bringing bleeding disorders to the attention of policymakers, we can increase access to care and treatment. Everyone can play a part—from patients, family members, and caregivers, to corporate partners, Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs) volunteers, and those who support their national member organization.

Get involved by making a donation to support global humanitarian aid and telling your story! There are several ways you can help spread awareness:

  • Share your picture or make a video and post it on social media. Use #WHD2025 and tag us so we can share your post.
  • Like and share other bleeding disorder posts and stories.
  • Donate and raise money for events supporting the bleeding disorder community.
