Food + Fun + Fellowship = HoG Client Dinners
“Does anyone with a bleeding disorder live near me?” That’s a question we get asked often. A great way to discover the answer is to attend a Hemophilia of Georgia client dinner. We hold these dinners in relaxed, buffet restaurants around the state so everyone has a chance to attend at least one during the year.
We mail invitations to all the inherited bleeding disorder households in the surrounding area a few weeks before the dinner. Just call and let us know how many of your family members will be attending and you’ll be all set.
At the dinner, you’ll see your HoG outreach nurse, social worker and other HoG staff members. They’ll give you updates on what’s happening at HoG and in bleeding disorder care. The program is very short to give you the most time to talk to other families. All ages of clients attend, so you’ll meet families with young kids as well as “old-timers” in the community. In the past, people have discovered neighbors with bleeding disorders they didn’t know. One mother was delighted to learn that a teacher at her child’s school was also a bleeding disorder mom!
Since our April newsletter, we have held client dinners in Columbus, Conyers, Albany, Douglasville and Savannah. Enjoy these photos and watch for your invitation in the mail.
