Dear HoG: Opportunities for Volunteers
Dear HoG:
I’d like to help the bleeding disorder community in Georgia. Does HoG need any volunteers?
--Potential Volunteer
Dear Potential Volunteer:
Hemophilia of Georgia depends on the support of dedicated volunteers to provide essential programs for the bleeding disorder community. There are several upcoming volunteer opportunities.
The weekend of September 24-26, we will host our Fall Family Camp at Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, Georgia. We need volunteers to help us with set up, running programs, and hosting families during the weekend. Volunteers stay at camp all weekend, and meals, lodging & activities are all provided. It's a fun and relaxing weekend and a great opportunity to get involved at HoG.
Volunteers are needed for the 28th Annual Hit ‘Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament on Monday, November 1, at Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton. Our goal this year is to raise $250,000 to be used for research to find a cure for inherited bleeding disorders. This event would not be successful without the dedicated efforts of our volunteers. We expect more than 300 golfers, celebrities and guests and will need 60 volunteers for this fantastic event.
We also need volunteers for our annual Teen Retreat over MLK Weekend, January 15-17, 2011. We will take about 40 teens (ages 13-17) to Tybee Island. We'll do educational activities and see some local sites around Tybee Island and Savannah. We'll depart Saturday morning from the HoG office via charter bus and will return to the HoG office on Monday afternoon.
Please contact Kim Wilson at 770-518-8272 or kawilson@hog.org if you are interested in volunteering. All volunteers are asked to complete the HoG Volunteer Application.
