Congratulations to Kyle N., HoG’s Newest Mighty Sticker!
Horizons in Hemophila, June 2010
By Karen Clark, RN, Outreach Nurse
Twelve-year-old Kyle N. successfully completed self-infusion training and now joins the ranks of The Mighty Sticker Club. Kyle has attended Camp Wannaklot for the past five summers and it was there that he first became interested in learning how to self-infuse.
Recently, HoG outreach nurses Karen Clark and Leesa Warshauer watched as Kyle correctly demonstrated mixing and infusing his factor using aseptic technique. After his successful self-infusion, Kyle was awarded a certificate and a watch and had his picture taken.
Kyle’s favorite activity at camp is horseback riding. Camp Wannaklot is a family affair for Kyle since his Aunt Dawn has volunteered as a camp counselor for the past seven years. When he’s not at camp, Kyle loves to read comic books and he enjoys building Legos, bike riding and swimming.
Way to go Kyle! Everyone at HoG is proud of you!
