Celebrate Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month
In addition to Social Work Month, March is also Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month. Hosted by the National Hemophilia Foundation, the month-long celebration builds awareness around bleeding disorders and promotes advocacy for the unique needs of the bleeding disorder community.
How can you help spread awareness? Here are a few tips.
- Share your story on social media. If you tag us, we’ll share your story, as well. You can use hashtags such as #BleedingDisordersAwareness, #BleedingDisordersAwarenessMonth, #BleedingDisorders, #Hemophilia, and #VonWillebrand to help spread the word.
- Become an Advocate. Don't be afraid to take actions that will benefit the bleeding disorder community. Create signs or recruit signatures that will go to congress or local legislators. Write letters to your congressman on key issues such as health care for all and drug safety.
- Donate to support the cause. Donating time or money to your favorite bleeding disorders nonprofit can help support efforts to advocate on a larger scale, as well as to communicate and educate an audience outside of your circle of connections.
Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month is part of NHF’s Red Tie Challenge, and both lead up to World Hemophilia Day on April 17. Help us spread the word to the world.
