30th Annual Hit ‘Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament
Horizons in Hemophilia, September 2012
By Vic McCarty, Director of Development
On October 30, 2012 Hemophilia of Georgia will host the 30th annual Hit ‘Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament at The Manor Golf Course and Echelon in Alpharetta, Georgia. HoG is very excited to announce that more than 150 golfers are already registered to participate in the tournament. Event registration and golfer check in will begin at 9:00 a.m. on October 30th. A shotgun start is planned for 10:30 am. A dinner reception will immediately follow the tournament. During the reception, prizes will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place team from each of the two courses, and to the Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive winners from each course. The reception also features silent and live auctions and special sponsorship recognition.
HoG is pleased to announce that sponsorship commitments to date exceed $175,000 and sponsorship opportunities are still available. Corporations of all sizes are invited to participate in the golf tournament and sponsorship packages can be tailored to meet the needs for any organization. Levels of sponsorship will determine the number of golfer slots, course assignments, amount of media coverage, company signage and significant community marketing exposure for a sponsoring organization.
HoG thanks the following organizations for their corporate sponsorship of the 2012 golf tournament: The Atlanta Braves, Lazer Spot, Goodman Networks, Baxter Healthcare, CSL Behring, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, AT&T Mobility, Delta Air Lines, Tyco Integrated Security, Ericsson, Bayer Healthcare, TEKsystems, Cruser & Mitchell, LLP, Merrill Lynch, Green Mountain Consulting, Biogen Idec Hemophilia Care, Inspiration Biopharmaceuticals, Coca Cola Refreshments, Hardy Chevrolet, Virgil P. Warren Foundation and United Distributors.
Golfers will have the opportunity to enjoy various refreshments at “food holes” throughout the tournament provided by local Atlanta restaurants. Golfers will be able to enjoy samples of signature dishes from these restaurants on each of the courses.
Raffle and auction items are currently being solicited from local vendors and HoG hopes to secure at least 100 raffle and/or auction items. Golfers will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for outstanding weekend get-a-ways, dinner gift certificates, attraction passes and many other outstanding items. All attendees will be able to participate in a silent and live auction during the dinner reception immediately following the tournament.
The golf planning committee began meeting in June and has been working very hard to secure corporate sponsorship commitments. The committee supports the overall planning and implementation of the event. In addition to corporate sponsorship opportunities this year there are a limited number of individual golfer slots available. Registration forms for the golf tournament are available on the HoG website.
Individuals interested in volunteering for the golf tournament should contact Vic McCarty. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old and have a current volunteer application on file at HoG.
