Medical Treatments

People with bleeding disorders must be very careful with medical treatments that happen beneath the skin (invasive procedures). The three most common treatments of this kind are:

  • shots (injections) into a muscle
  • surgery in the mouth such as pulling a tooth
  • other kinds of surgery (operations)

Always check with your HTC first. They can give you a treatment plan to help prevent bleeding. With careful planning and follow-up by the comprehensive care team, you can have these treatments done safely.
