Step 8: Rotate the bottle with your hands to dissolve the powder in the water

Guidelines:

  • Gently rotate the factor bottle between your hands or gently swirl the bottle.
  • Mix until there are no solid pieces or white clumps left.  The liquid in the bottle should be clear.  It may take 5 to 20 minutes to mix the factor.

Caution: Do not shake the bottle!  This will make bubbles and foam.  It is hard to draw foam up into the syringe, so you will not be able to get all the factor.

  • If there is a black speck in the diluent or factor, it is probably a piece of the rubber stopper pushed in by the needle.  This is not a problem.  The piece is sterile and will be stopped by the filter needle.
