Special Events
Hemophilia of Georgia sponsors fundraising events throughout the year. These annual events include the Hit 'Em for Hemophilia Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held October 28, 2008 at Château Élan in Braselton, GA. Planning committee volunteers help coordinate decorations and event set-up, and help with prize donations and corporate sponsorships. Event day volunteers assist with registration, decorations and set-up, and other tasks. There's something for everyone.
Family Programs
If you enjoy working with children, then we have just the volunteer opportunity for you. HoG sponsors a wide variety of youth and family programs during the year. These programs include an adolescent retreat, women's awareness programs, men's activities, and spring and fall Family Camp Weekends. Each program is designed to provide a unique opportunity for individuals and families to share concerns and ideas with others facing similar challenges. Volunteers serve as chaperones and assist with other program details.
Camp Wannaklot
In addition, HoG sponsors Camp Wannaklot, a weeklong summer camp for children who have an inherited bleeding disorder. Some volunteers work directly with children as camp counselors and others serve on the Camp Wannaklot planning group.
Pharmacy Support
Volunteers help package medical supplies for mailing to clients.
